These terms apply to the Light up Armenia website at lightarmenia.com and to every order placed on it. Please read them before you pay. By placing an order you confirm that you have read and accept these terms, the Refund Policy, the Delivery and Payment page and the Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
The service is provided by:
- Company: [Company legal name]
- Taxpayer ID (TIN): [Tax ID]
- Address: [Registered address]
- Email: hello@lightarmenia.com
- Phone: [Phone number]
We are a for-profit company registered in the Republic of Armenia. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean [Company legal name], and "you" means the person who places an order.
2. What the service is
Light up Armenia is a New Year project that brings people together in one place: a digital map of Armenia with a limited number of places. On it you can buy one digital service: a place on the map. One payment gets you all of this:
- Your place on the map. One free place on the Light up Armenia New Year map of Armenia, with your name or nickname and a few words (see section 7).
- Your room. On your place you make your own New Year room: a little 3D room that you decorate and can change later at any time. Anyone can open your place and look at your room.
- One wish for the fire. You write one wish (up to 120 characters), once. On 31 December 2026 all the wishes burn together, in a single day, in a shared digital fire that is broadcast live on our YouTube channel and shown on the website. There is no live stream before 31 December.
The wish is included in the price of the place: there is no extra charge for it. Each place has exactly one wish. You can write it right after taking your place or later, in the "Fire" tab on the map, until the fire ends on 31 December. A wish burns only if its place is paid.
After payment you get a personal page with a link to your place. Once your wish has burned, you also get its number, a replay of it burning and a story image you can download and share.
The map, the rooms and the fire are computer animations. No physical paper is burned and nothing physical is sent to you.
3. Price
| What you buy | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| A place on the map with a room and one wish | 600 AMD | The free place you chose, your own New Year room on it, and one wish that burns in the fire on 31 December. Personal page, plus a story image to share. |
There are no other products or options. Every payment is 600 AMD, of which 120 AMD (20%) goes to the children's gift fund (see section 10).
Prices are final and shown in Armenian drams (AMD). The price you see on the order page before payment is the price you pay. We may change prices for future orders; this does not affect orders already paid.
4. Payment
- You pay by bank card on the secure payment page of Ameriabank. We never see, receive or store your full card number or CVV code.
- All payments are made in AMD. If your card is in another currency, your card issuer converts the amount and may charge its own fee.
- An order counts as paid only after the bank confirms the payment to us directly.
Details are on the Delivery and Payment page.
5. Who can order
You must be at least 18 years old to pay, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian to make the payment. By paying, you confirm this.
6. What you may write
Your wish is shown in a public fire and on a public live stream, and your place's name and words are shown on a public map, so some rules apply. Do not write:
- names or surnames of real people (your own or your family's name on your place is fine, see section 7);
- insults, threats, hate speech or anything humiliating people because of their nationality, religion, gender or any other trait;
- phone numbers, addresses, links, usernames or other contact details;
- advertising;
- anything illegal under the laws of the Republic of Armenia.
How we handle content:
- When you write a text, our system may refuse one that clearly breaks these rules. You can rewrite it; nothing extra is charged.
- Texts that may contain names, phone numbers or links can be accepted but hidden. A hidden wish still burns and counts as delivered, but its text is never shown publicly. You still see it on your own personal page.
- Every text is checked before it can appear publicly. Until it is checked, your wish burns without visible text.
- When writing your wish, you can choose not to show its text publicly at all.
- We may hide any text at any time if we believe it breaks these rules.
- If, after payment, we have to refuse a wish completely because it is illegal, the wish does not burn, we refund the payment in full and the place is removed from the map.
The rules for your place's name and words are in section 7.
Permission to show your content. By ordering, you allow us, free of charge and for the purposes of this service, to show your wish (if it is approved and you chose to show it) in the fire on the website, on the live stream and in the stream recordings, and to show your place, your room, your name and your words (if approved) on the map and on your place's page. If you later want your text removed from public view, write to us; see the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for what you write. Do not write anything you would not want strangers to read.
7. Your place and your room
Light up Armenia is a digital map of Armenia with a limited number of places: 111,111, each 500×500 m (Lake Sevan is not divided into places). Our goal is to fill all of them before 25 December. When every place on the current map is taken, there are no free places left. For 600 AMD you choose one free place and make it yours:
- you choose how your place looks on the map;
- you decorate your room, for example with a tree, a sofa or a fireplace;
- you add your name or nickname (up to 30 characters), a few words (up to 60 characters) and your email.
You can change your room later at any time. Anyone who taps your place can open your room, look at it and send you warmth.
This is a symbolic digital marker, not land. A place is simply a cell of a picture. By buying a place you do not acquire any land, property or territory, or any right to any real place. The borders on the map are approximate and illustrative only. They are drawn from public map data and say nothing about any legal or political borders.
How it works:
- One place, one owner. A place goes to whoever pays for it first. While you are paying, the place is reserved for you for 30 minutes.
- If, rarely, someone else takes the same place at the same moment, we offer you the nearest free place or a full refund, whichever you prefer.
- Before payments open, you can save your place with your email. Nothing is charged and the place is not reserved. When payments open, we email you a link. If the place you chose has been taken by then, we offer you the nearest free one. You can already write your wish for a saved place; it burns on 31 December if the place is paid by then.
- Your place appears on the map right after payment and stays there at least until 31 January 2027. After that, we may keep the map as a read-only archive page or remove it.
- Anyone can tap a place and see its room, its name and words (if approved), the date it was taken, the province and the nearest town. Your email is never shown.
Name and words. The rules of section 6 apply: no insults, phone numbers, links or other people's private data. The name is meant for your own or your family's name (for example, "The Petrosyan family") and is shown publicly by your choice.
- Your name or words may be hidden while they are being checked, or if they break the rules. The place itself stays on the map and the service counts as delivered.
- If, after payment, we have to refuse your name or words completely because they are illegal, the place is not shown on the map (or is removed) and we refund the payment in full.
8. Delivery
The service is digital and is delivered online:
- your personal page is available immediately after payment;
- your place appears on the map right after payment;
- on 31 December 2026 the wishes of all paid places burn together in the fire, live on YouTube and on the website's live page.
Full details, including what happens with wishes written in the last hours of the year, are on the Delivery and Payment page.
9. Refunds
You get a full refund if we fail to deliver the service (for example, your place did not appear on the map, or your wish did not burn through our fault), if you were charged twice, or if a technical error occurred. Because the service is delivered right away, a change of mind after your place has appeared on the map is not a reason for a refund, except where the law requires it. If someone else took your place at the same moment and you do not want the nearest free place, you get a full refund. Full rules are in the Refund Policy.
10. The 20% for children's gifts
From every 600 AMD payment we set aside 120 AMD (20%) for the gift fund. With this money we buy New Year gifts for children in Armenia who grow up without a family, in children's homes, and deliver them from 25 to 30 December 2026.
- This is our own decision as a company. It is not a charity collection, not a donation made by you and not tax-deductible. You are paying for a digital service; we choose to spend part of our revenue this way.
- For transparency, bloggers trusted in Armenia can register through the form on the 20% for gifts page to take part in delivering the gifts. Registering is free and is not an order.
- After the gifts are delivered, we will publish on the website what was bought and which children's homes received the gifts.
- If a payment is refunded, its 20% share is removed from the gift fund.
11. Availability and our responsibility
- We do our best to keep the website and the live stream running. Short interruptions can happen because of maintenance, internet problems, YouTube or other providers we do not control.
- If the YouTube stream is interrupted, your wish still burns in the fire on the website and in your replay.
- Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where Armenian law does not allow such a limit.
- Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Protection of Consumer Rights.
12. Intellectual property
The website, the fire animation, the map, the rooms and the items in them, the design and the story images belong to us. You may download your story image and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Your text remains yours.
13. Personal data
We collect only the data needed to provide the service. How we use and protect it is described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the latest version. An order is governed by the version in force when it was paid.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@lightarmenia.com; we reply within 24 hours and will try to solve it quickly. If we cannot agree, the dispute will be decided by the competent court of the Republic of Armenia. This does not take away any rights you have under consumer protection laws.
